Dear Sir,
Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme for early childhood development was launched on October 2, 1975. This program has been running for more than 45 years. In terms of beneficiaries, this is the world's biggest community-based program, with children under the age of six, pregnant and nursing mothers, adolescents, and reproductive women. Age range: 15–44 years all get benefits.[1],[2] There are 13.46 lakh Anganwadi centers are operational. The number of supplementary nutrition beneficiaries (6 months to 6 years) pregnant and lactating mother is 1022.33 lakh. The number of preschool children education beneficiaries (3–6 years) is 365.44 lakh covered under ICDS.[1] The Anganwadi Centres need to emerge as a vibrant center for child development.[3]
The logo symbolic of ICDS has developed long back since the inception of the program. The authors' viewpoints on the redesigning logo that reflects the past and current scenario with the holistic view [Figure 1].[3] The idea of this logo was generated during undergraduate teaching and learning sessions on ICDS and Anganwadi worker. The logo is based on multiple modifications and additions to the existing logo, the symbolic rationale behind various components of the logo are as follows: | Figure 1: Integrated Child Development Services New logo in 21st Century/Proposed new logo for Integrated Child Development Services Service
